Ballyvaughan Farmers Market this EASTER Saturday

Ballyvaughan Farmers Market re-opens for the season on Saturday 23rd April 2011 from 10am - 2pm.

This year Ballyvaughan Farmers Market has a great choice in lunch offerings each Saturday. So while you shop for your vegetables, meat, fish, cheese, cakes, bread, honey, jams, eggs and plants why not stay longer and enjoy a bowl of soup or chilli con carne or one of the fantastic savoury snacks on offer. Afterwards a great cup of tea or coffee with a choice of delicious cakes, pies or slices.

New stalls offering meat and a variety of preserves have joined us.

A host of displays, food tastings and activities with the whole family in mind are planned throughout the season. Have a look at www.ballyvaughanfarmersmarket.ie and keep an eye on the media.

The Market will run every Saturday from 10 – 2 for the season at the Community Hall, opposite the Garda Station, in Ballyvaughan.

See you soon. Any enquiries to Deborah 086 8038477 Deborah or Tracey 087 2911092

COMMUNITY FUND READY TO GO!

Since its launch, the Ballyvaughan Farmers Market cookbook “Recipe Collection” has been selling like hot cakes.  As a result the proceeds from sales have been collected into a Community Fund and at the launch of the cookbook in June last year, the Ballyvaughan Farmers Market traders committed the fund to assist local projects.   The fund is now ready to be distributed among the local community and we are inviting applications for funding of all types of projects.

If you are working or volunteering with a local community group you should know that there are limited funds available to start or develop current projects.  The funding is directed particularly at “not for profit” activities and projects.  The process will involve the completion of a straightforward application form submitted to the Ballyvaughan Farmers Market committee.  Applications will be accepted from 14th March to 31st May this year and funding can be expected to be released by early June.  Application forms can be requested from Chris Keane, Ballyvaughan Farmers Market Secretary, Lismactigue, Ballyvaughan, Co Clare or follow this link.
